Elís Lawlor is the acting head of the Valuing What Matters team at the New Economics Foundation (NEF).
Eilís has particular responsibility for nef’s research on economic development and children in care. She is also involved in work on Social Return on Investment analyses for the Adventure Capital Fund.
Eilís has five years experience in research and project management. Before joining nef she worked for an organisation called Pilotlight - helping to build the capacity of voluntary sector organisations by providing access to private sector coaching and business planning skills, and measurement and evaluation tools. Eilís has also conducted research on a range of social issues including asylum and immigration, youth unemployment and early school leaving. The role and potential of the third sector has been a constant theme in her work, and previous projects have included its use of information technology to further social aims and its effectiveness in political advocacy.
